Bohemia Suites & Spa, Playa del Inglés

We were on holiday in Crete when we met Alex, who is a hotel promoter. When we told him we lived in The Canary Islands, he said: “You MUST go and stay at Bohemia Suites & Spa in Gran Canaria – you’ll love it!” We rarely pass up strong personal recommendations, so we booked a two night stay at the hotel almost as soon as we returned from Crete. Alex had told us that there had been a huge investment…

Capsis Crystal Energy, Agia Pelagia

We flew into Crete from London, arriving quite late at the quirky little Heraklion airport. We’d arranged a transfer as part of the booking, and we were pleased to find it was a very comfortable, well air conditioned, leather seated Mercedes Minibus – these things are important to me! First Impressions The transfer was only 25km and we arrived at what we knew to be a private peninsular – indeed the gates were firmly shut! The peninsular is adjacent to…

Hotel Atlas Les Almohades, Tangier

We decided on the 4* Atlas Les Almohades for our stay in Tangier as it overlooks the Bay of Tangier, had WiFi and offered free parking onsite. On our journey from the Tangier airport through the city, we discovered that there is so much construction happening, therefore it wasn’t a surprise to find a building site on the beach directly opposite our hotel, for the new Tanja Marina Bay. For this reason, we were allocated a pool view room at…

Hotel Les Jardins de L’Agdal, Marrakech

We decided to book the 5* hotel Les Jardins de L’Agdal for a 2 night stay in Marrakech, which was the turn point in our 7 day tour to discover Morocco and also my birthday weekend. The hotel is situated on the main Avenue Mohammed VI, we had booked a standard double room and was allocated a double room with pool view on the second floor (2248). I really liked the Moroccan theme of the hotel, there were lots of…

Samsara Fusion Restaurant, Maspalomas

Oh my goodness! This was an absolute cracker! We were recommended to Samsara by Alex Bramwell, who runs Gran Canaria Info and what a recommendation it turned out to be! Samsara describes itself as an “Asian fusion” restaurant. It’s located in Maspalomas, which is the slightly more upmarket resort next to Playa del Inglés in Gran Canaria. It’s very large, but despite that booking is essential. The whole place is a feast for the eyes from the moment you arrive.…

I love travelling, especially when I get do so with a touch of luxury. For me travel is about buying “moments’ rather than “Things.” I’m an Ironman triathlete, scuba diver and I love techy stuff and cars. Sadly for my waistline, I love cooking and enjoying great food! My favourite places so far are Miami and Hong Kong, but I’m really enjoying exploring much more of the United States.

Julie Cliffe-Jones

Director

The kids have grown up and it’s time to have some fun with my hubby interspersing work with travel. I love discovering new places, I like to stay in luxury hotels, understand the local culture, experience the gastronomy and take photographs as I travel. I’m also a triathlete and Ironman, so when I do have some spare time I’ll probably be swimming, cycling or running. I enjoy booking our clients holidays, as much as I do our own.
