When’s a good time to visit the Caribbean?

The Caribbean enjoys a moderate tropical climate that typically fluctuates between 24-29°C. High Season (December to April) These are the driest months in the Caribbean making it a popular winter sun destination, especially around Spring Break and Easter. Low Season (May to November) Expect rainfall during low season, which helps to keep the tropical islands green & lush. August tends to be the hottest month in the Caribbean. Hurricane Season (June to November) The hurricane season stretches from the 1st…

Our tour to discover Morocco

Our road trip to discover Morocco all started with the Ryanair €9.99 winter sale, where I spotted an offer from Madrid to Tangier. Usually we can’t find any deals from Lanzarote so when I spotted this flight I booked it on a whim. I had always wanted to visit Marrakech, despite our close location to Morocco from the Canary Islands it’s not cheap or convenient to fly direct. Binter offer a service but I haven’t found flights under 400 euro…

Restaurant Alibaba, Tangier

We discovered the Restaurant Alibaba on our first walk about in Tangier. We were staying at the 4* Atlas les Almohades on the Avenue Mohammed VI and had walked along the front to the port and medina on arrival. Alibaba stood out from the other establishments in that area, it was the fabulous aroma wafting out from the restaurant that first drew our attention and we decided to eat there later that evening. The menu was split into a choice…

Le Dhow Restaurant Lounge Bar, Rabat

Our riad had recommended two local restaurants for our evening meal in Rabat, we opted for Le Dhow. Le Dhow is a wooden dhow boat that has been converted to offer a floating restaurant and chill out lounge moored on the waterfront of Rabat, underneath the Kasbah D’Oudayas. When we boarded we were shown to the dining room on the top deck, it was warm and cosy, out of the cool evening breeze. We were given a romantic table for…

We thought it would be fun to plot our travels on a map of the hotels we’ve stayed in. We also like to publish our own hotel reviews on Camel Travel, so that we can give our personal experience and honest opinion of the hotels we’ve visited. You can click on a map point, or search the site to see what we think of any particular hotel.

Director

I love travelling, especially when I get do so with a touch of luxury. For me travel is about buying “moments’ rather than “Things.” I’m an Ironman triathlete, scuba diver and I love techy stuff and cars. Sadly for my waistline, I love cooking and enjoying great food! My favourite places so far are Miami and Hong Kong, but I’m really enjoying exploring much more of the United States.

Julie Cliffe-Jones

Director

The kids have grown up and it’s time to have some fun with my hubby interspersing work with travel. I love discovering new places, I like to stay in luxury hotels, understand the local culture, experience the gastronomy and take photographs as I travel. I’m also a triathlete and Ironman, so when I do have some spare time I’ll probably be swimming, cycling or running. I enjoy booking our clients holidays, as much as I do our own.
