Bientang’s Cave, Hermanus

We drove through the spectacular Franschhoek pass to drop down to the Indian Ocean coast and town of Hermanus. Walker Bay is one of the top 12 places in the world to observe whales, this huge bay has been declared as a whale sanctuary and stretches from Hermanus to Gansbaai. We parked on the cliffs and wandered along the footpath, searching the surface of the sea for any sign of whale activity. June is early in the season and sadly…

Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa, South Africa

The 4* picturesque thatched Le Franschhoek Hotel was perfect for our two night stay in the Cape Winelands. Situated 5km outside the village, this wasn’t a problem for us with a hire car, if you’re not driving, the hotel run a courtesy transfer to the village a few times a day, or their concierge offers a private return transfer for R120 per couple. We booked a standard room and was allocated number 16, which was nestled under the thatch. Our…

Platea Madrid – Top Restaurants In One Place

We were recommended to visit Platea Madrid by some friends. If you enjoy good food, you need to go too! Think for a moment about those food halls large shopping centres sometimes have – the ones where you sit at tables in the centre, and then order your food from different restaurants around the outside. That’s exactly how Platea is, but the difference is instead of fried chicken, burgers and the like, you’re surrounded by top calls restaurants and bars.…

Decent Internet While Travelling

For us, maintaining a decent internet connection while travelling, is business critical. Not only do we have to continue to answer emails and run our business, but we also need to be uploading images and video of our travels all the time. Most hotels these days offer Wifi, but it’s not reliable, and the upload speed is usually appalling. Using hotel Wifi also means we’re out of touch when travelling between them or just out and about. Data roaming and…

Hilton London Heathrow Airport

We needed a hotel for an overnight stay at London Heathrow Airport on our journey from Lanzarote to Cape Town. The obvious choice was the Hilton London Heathrow as we were flying out of T4 and this hotel, is the only one with direct access to terminal 4. The Hilton London Heathrow hotel is accessed via a tunnel walkway from departures in T4. It takes around 6 minutes to walk from the airport via the covered footpath to the hotel,…

Emirates A380 Experience

I was lucky enough to win a Beachcomber competition for a place on an Emirates A380 Experience at Manchester Airport in September. I met Caroline Chadwick, Regional Sales Manager at Beachcomber Tours for the North of England, and Rob Spencer, Senior Sales Executive at Emirates for the North West in Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport together with a few other travel agents who had also secured places. After an overview of the check-in operation and ticket desk we visited security…

I love travelling the world, especially when I get do so with a touch of luxury. For me travel is about buying “moments’ rather than “Things.” I’m an Ironman triathlete, scuba diver and I love tech stuff and cars. I also love cooking and enjoying great food! I’ve developed a taste for cruising. We’ve lived in The Canary Islands for 25 years – they have been a wonderful place to live and for our children to grow up in. I can’t wait to help you book the best holidays you can imagine.

The kids have grown up and it’s time to have some fun with my hubby interspersing work with travel. I love discovering new places on road trips and cruises. I like to get immersed in local culture, experience gastronomy, discover wildlife and take photographs along the way. I enjoy booking our clients holidays, as much as I do planning our own.
