The dates for the 2022 Grand Prix Season are out, with another 23 races on the calendar.
So what does 2022 have in store for us?
The answer is nobody knows! The rules are totally different for 2022, and all the teams have had to design completely new cars, with the emphasis on reducing downforce, making overtaking easier as the cars should create much less turbulence. There’s also a strict cost cap, which will means teams have a much more even playing field than in the past and the large teams won’t be able to spend their way to faster development.
The aim is to bring the whole grid closer together and make the racing more exciting. As with any major rule change, there are likely to be some big winners and some huge losers – could we see Haas fighting for wins, or Mercedes languishing at the back of the grid?
We won’t know until the new cars, which the teams have been working on for the last year, hit the track for the first test of the season at Barcelona on 23rd February.
We’ll add offers here as they come in, and we may see you at some of these races.
