The Fastest Growing Global Cruise Brand

MSC Cruises are not only the fastest growing cruise line, but they are the market leading brand in Europe, South America, The Gulf and Southern Africa and they are the third largest cruise ship brand in the world.

Why is that? The answer is actually quite simple – they offer astonishing value for money, and the ships are gorgeous. The pricing is key, and MSC has managed to introduce a whole new type of passenger into the cruise market – basically, anyone who has traditionally stayed in decent quality 4 star hotels will find an MSC cruise not only offers more, but at a lower price.

A Legacy of Excellence:

Founded in 1987, MSC Cruises is the brainchild of the Aponte family, which has a long-standing history in the maritime industry. Since its inception, the company has expanded its fleet and transformed into one of the world’s largest privately-owned cruise lines. It’s a big company, but at its heart, it’s still a family run business, and that shows.

The MSC Cruises Fleet

MSC Cruises boasts a diverse fleet of ships that cater to varying travel preferences and budgets. From the elegant and intimate atmosphere of the smaller ships to the grandeur and innovation of the larger ones, there is a perfect ship for every traveler.

MSC World Europa

With an eye towards the future, MSC Cruises has announced the MSC World Class, a revolutionary series of LNG-powered ships set to debut in 2022. These vessels will push the boundaries of innovation, featuring next-generation technologies, immersive entertainment experiences, and stunning architectural design. The MSC World Class ships will be equipped to visit a wide range of destinations worldwide, offering guests unparalleled opportunities for exploration.

The Destinations

MSC has more than 250 destinations, and ships embarking passengers all over the world. Currently there are itineraries in:

  • The Bahamas and Caribbean
  • Canada and USA
  • The Mediterranean
  • The North Sea
  • The Baltic
  • The Red Sea
  • The Gulf
  • South America
  • Asia
  • South Africa

And as more ships come on line, there will be yet more destinations!

The Cabins and Staterooms

There are too many options to list them all, for each ship, but broadly speaking, all ships offer:

  • Inside cabins – the lowest price way to get cruising, but there’s no skimping on space or comfort
  • Oceanview Cabins – As the name suggests, they have a window to the ocean
  • Balcony Cabins – Yes, you’ve got it!
  • Suites – there are loads of different suite options, depending on ship, some with multiple rooms, and even duplex cabins.

Suffice to say, we’ll advise you on the best possible cabin based on your budget and needs. Not all cabins, even in the same class are equal!

The Experience

MSC offers three levels of “Experience,” and this is where the real value for money starts to come into play.

The basic level is called Bella, the intermediate is Fantastica and the top level is Aurea:

Bella

This is what we would call “Standard” cruising, and offers exactly what you’d expect – your accommodation, all your meals, in the buffet and main dining restaurants, use of all the facilitie kids clubs and entertainment.

Bella cabins might have obstructed views, they may be on lower decks and you won’t have a choice of dining times for your main meals.

Bella cabins include interior, oceanview and balcony. They are allocated, and Bella guests are not able to choose their cabins.

Fantastica

The first key benefit is that Fantastica guests can choose their own cabins, so you can go more forward or aft, or avoid elevators, for example.

They can choose their own mealtimes, and even enjoy breakfast delivered to their cabins. There’s a discount at this level, of 20% on speciality dining that can be pre booked.

Fantastica cabins are as above, but the range is much larger, and suites are available.

Aurea

This is the top level, other than Yacht Club, and Aurea guests have the best locations for their cabins, robes and slippers provided and even a pillow menu.

They are able to choose their dining times, they will have a welcome package on arrival in the cabin, and they can have room service 24 hours per day.

Aurea guests have access to an exclusive sun deck, access to the ship’s spa and priority boarding and disembarkation.

Aurea is only available to those staying in balcony cabins or suites.

Drinks Packages ON MSC Cruises

MSC offer a variety of drinks packages, or you can just pay as you go. The packages include an inexpensive option for those who are happy with decent wine, beers and standard spirits, up to a premium package, which covers Champagne and top international brands.

Non alcoholic and kids packages are available too.

Yacht Club – A Ship Within A Ship

Yacht Club is something really special – it’s a whole section of the ship which is exclusive to yacht club guests. You could spend the whole cruise only in your yacht club area, if you chose to do so!

The biggest benefit of Yacht Club is that you will have a trained butler on call at all times, to get your drinks, book excursions, or to arrange anything you could possibly want or need.

You’ll have priority access to board and disembark and also to get ashore. You’ll have access to exclusive areas including a Yacht Club Dining room, bars, swimming pool and sun deck. You’ll have complimentary access to the spa and wellness centre.

It’s one of the very best experiences at sea, and much lower in price than small ship cruises offering similar services.
