The Barceló Playa Blanca is the largest hotel to be constructed in Lanzarote. This 4* hotel had a soft opening on 1st December 2023 and was officially inaugurated on 2nd February 2024. Built on the site of the demolished HD Pueblo Marinero this hotel completes the gap between Dreams Lanzarote and Marina Rubicòn on the oceanfront promenade in central Playa Blanca. The contract to operate this 150 million euro investment by Canarian company, Hermanos Domínguez (HD) was awarded to the Barceló hotel group for the first 10 years.

The hotel is marketed in two sections, Barceló Playa Blanca Royal Level with 132 rooms in the front section of building 2 which is adults only (18+ years old) and the main Barceló Playa Blanca with 588 rooms situated in buildings 1, 2 and 3.

The two à la carte restaurants open on different evenings and are not included in any board level / room type. Use the hotel app to make your reservation and check the opening times as they fluctuate. The interior design in both of these restaurants is spectacular. Koi has private dining booths which are popular with families / small groups. Mexíco Lindo has a vibrant colour scheme which is portrayed throughout the restaurant including the crockery. All restaurants have al fresco dining areas.

Currently it is not possible for non hotel guests to dine at the à la carte restaurants. It is also not possible for half board guests to switch evening meals to lunch.

We visited the Barceló Playa Blanca hotel for a tour on 9 February 2024. The construction fencing around the commercial frontage of La Sal had been removed, but the frontline shops and restaurants were still being fitted at this time. The security gates to the promenade were in operation. We had a look around 4 different room types.

Room 4284: This standard junior suite has a bath and shower, plus two balconies with a mountain / street view.

Room 4249: This is a Royal Level deluxe front ocean view room on the top floor with sun beds on the balcony.
