The XQ El Palacete is a boutique hotel situated in a prime beachfront position in Morro Jable, Fuerteventura.

El Palacete is a 4* hotel with 5* service. This hotel has 54 rooms, all of which have balconies with sea views. There are three different room types, entry level is the confort room, or upgrade to a premium room for extras including Nespresso machine, slippers, dressing gown etc. These sleep 1-3 people and are 38m2. The premium suites are larger at 48m2 the difference is a separate bedroom and hydro massage bath.

Reception is situated on the 1st floor at street level, parking is available at €3 per night and drivers issued with a key to unlock the barrier to protect their space. The first thing you notice when you walk into the hotel is the view!

We stayed at this hotel in August 2020, our premium room was 36, this is on the top floor, directly over the reception area and offers fabulous views of the beach and old town. The balcony is furnished with two chairs that lay flat to give you a lounger position too.

The rooms are furnished in natural colours, with twin beds and a large sofa which converts into an extra bed if required. Toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. The air conditioning worked well to keep the room cool despite the calima during our visit.

One downside if you are staying longer is that the television only received news channels in English language. The hotel predominantly attracts Spanish & German guests, although there were a few other British guests in residence during our visit.

Half board is the standard board option. Both breakfast and evening meals are served at the main restaurant situated by the pool. We were allocated a table for the duration of our stay, which was on the terrace by the pool. Tables were also set for breakfast service at the terraza Mirador overlooking the promenade if you preferred a beachfront view. Gentlemen are required to wear long trousers for dinner. At both meal times there was a show cooking chef available with a selection of freshly cooked dishes. The food was well presented, tasty and a different choice each day.

Mealtimes were 08:00-10:30 for breakfast and 19:00-22:00 for dining in the evening. Service in the restaurant was excellent, from the show cooking chef to waiting staff. They recalled guests preferences and had our morning tea and coffee waiting for us as we arrived.

If you like a quiet ambience the XQ El Palacete is for you. There may be an occasional live music show in the bar of an evening, but no regular entertainment or activities to detract you from relaxing.

This hotel has a high repeat guest rate, it’s easy to understand why. The location is superb and their service was excellent. The old town area of Morro Jable is on the doorstep with a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants. The promenade stretches the length of Jandía (4km) with exercise lanes for running & cycling. Best of all, the beach is stunning!
