Our Experience

We booked a short break of 3 nights at the end of May 2023. Our reservation was for a double room with half board included. However, we paid to upgrade to a Privilege room (€36 per person, per night) during the check in process with the lovely receptionist, Carlos. Room 3216 is in a great position, we have a fantastic sea view stretching to Costa Adeje with morning sunshine. It is over the à la carte restaurants of Sakura & Stromboli which are open in the evening but this did not disturb us during our stay.

After check in we were able to move our car to the underground parking, as you need your chip in your hotel wrist band to access this area. They do have electric car charging points which is free of charge, you just need a card from reception to activate. The parking entrance also has a pedestrian access to the street.

The next priority was reserving our restaurants, the only one left available for our first evening was the Privilege. We managed to secure places at the Sakura Teppanyaki Japanese restaurant for Saturday night, and Stromboli Italian restaurant for Sunday night. We also booked 2 Privilege breakfasts and the Central Market buffet for one morning.

We explored the Privilege building which has The View Privilege Lounge & Restaurant on the ground floor with pool & sea views. This open space is split into two sections, the lounge has comfortable seating with a small snack selection, and complimentary soft & alcoholic drinks. The restaurant has a cosy feel to it with a range of tables and chairs for dining including al fresco. On the top floor of this building is the Privilege roof top infinity pool and bar (chargeable if not on all inclusive).

We loved the strict no reservation of sunbeds at this hotel. It was a joy to stroll around the 4 pools after breakfast with no towels in sight, simply pick your preferred place and relax.

We went for a walk along the coastal path to Callao Salvaje which is almost all promenade until the banana plantations and Playa de Abajo black beach.

We were staying half board so our options for lunch were either to dine at The Circle Pool & Snack Bar, or Central Market (€26 per person with at least 30 minutes notice booked via the hotel app).

Jasmina was a lovely host at the Sunset Infinity pool bar, we were always greeted with a genuine smile and great banter on our daily visits.

We didn’t have a turn down service during our stay, which is mentioned in the Privilege services.

Our Teppanyaki meal at Sakura with chef Martin was very good. He’s originally from Venezuela and has lived in Tenerife for 22 years. It’s a very limited experience with just 12 people dining at the same time, we had a mixture of Spanish & English adults at our sitting.

Spa included limited to 1 hour, daily access (not mentioned as a Privilege benefit)

It was slightly frustrating that at our evening meals the bottles of wine we selected from the restaurant’s wine list was not available. The first time it happened in The View, our waiter couldn’t recommend an alternative. The second time (in Sakura) we were instantly offered a suitable alternative. In Stromboli we were initially informed our choice of wine wasn’t available, then when they were searching for our second choice, they found they did actually have our first choice!

The evening dress code was relaxed, we expected long trousers for men to be enforced, however many male guests were wearing shorts at the à la carte restaurants.

We discovered that the air conditioning switches off during the night due to movement sensors. The subsequent nights were better with the ceiling fan running to keep the air circulating.

In summary we really enjoyed our short break at this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the H10 Atlantic Sunset to our clients. It’s certainly a fabulous hotel for families and multi-generational holidays with lots of pool space and no sunbed wars!
