We spent 3 weeks in Phuket during November 2025. We were staying room only at our hotel,  which offered an opportunity to check out some places for breakfast during this time. These are in no particular order, and reflect our experience at the time.

Raga Coffee

Raga Coffee and Homemade Bakery is the cutest spot, with enough insta worthy photo opportunities to satisfy the social influencers. Situated on Wiset Road (Rawai) they have parking in front of their premises. The busy road disappears as you walk into their rainforest terrace complete with a waterfall and stepping stones across a koi carp pond. The premises are gorgeous, there’s no doubting the setting. It was a bit off putting to be sent to the counter to order our food, we would have much preferred to browse the menu from a seating area. We felt under pressure to make a decision whilst the numerous staff looked on. Decision made, we paid and were issued a table number being free to choose where we wanted to sit. There are tables located throughout the garden terrace, or indoors if preferred. I ordered the crispy chicken with eggs benedict on sourdough bread with a mint cocoa cold drink. Mike went for scrambled egg on sourdough with a mixed berry smoothie (734 baht). Both dishes looked beautiful on presentation. I love the American style of crispy chicken for breakfast, however there wasn’t any spice or flavour in this coating, the over riding flavour I could taste was vinegar. I couldn’t work out if the eggs had been cooked in it or it was from the benedict sauce. Mike’s eggs were creamy and delicious.

We decided to make it brunch and try their home baked goods with coffee afterwards (535 baht).

 Roti Taew Nam

Our first breakfast in Phuket was at Roti Taew Nam on Thep Krasattri Road (Tambon Talat Yai) in old town Phuket. This cafe is a 70 year old breakfast institution unchanged by time. Open only in the mornings, expect a no-frills setting with limited seating and authentic roti cooked over charcoal. Language is not a problem, on arrival we were issued with a photo menu, menu pad and pencil to write the menu options and quantity down. We tried the 2:2 which is 2 roti and 2 fried eggs (40 baht), the combo really works and I enjoyed mopping up the yolk with pieces of shredded roti. We also wanted to try the Massaman curry with roti (70 baht), we had the chicken version which was tasty if not a little thin consistency on the sauce. Finally we had to try the banana egg roti (40 baht) which was fabulous. For us we didn’t need the sugar or condensed milk dipping options served on the side it was sweet enough. Washed down with a Thai style black coffee and lemon tea (50 baht).

Open daily from 07.00 to 12:00.

Poached Breakfast Cafe

We dived in to The Poached Breakfast Cafe in Chalong as there was a parking space when we were passing. This Melbourne inspired cafe has two dining rooms fronting on to the main road. We were offered a choice of tables, the booths were occupied at the time. There’s a great choice of healthy options, and a few naughty ones. I eventually decided on the pulled pork eggs benny (320 baht). Eggs benedict is a favourite of mine and I was intrigued to try their variation with slow cooked pulled pork. I loved the combination of crunchy shredded green apple, and apple cider hollandaise, it really worked with the meat.  Even the toppings of cranberries and mint leaves added to the overall dish. My drink was iron juice (140 baht), a combination of beetroot, apple and pineapple. Service was efficient with a smile. Other diners were dressed in various fitness outfits and appeared to be locals who had popped in for breakfast/brunch after their workouts.
