The Sandos El Greco is an adults only (16+) hotel situated in the picturesque resort of Portinatx, the northernmost bay in Ibiza. Originally a tiny fishing village, this small resort has 3 lovely beaches with a smattering of local bars and restaurants, perfect for a relaxing holiday.
If you can’t manage steps this 4* beachfront hotel is not for you. The pool area cannot be accessed other than down two sets of steps. Set into the hillside there is either a short steep ramp up from the beach promenade, or steps up from the beach boardwalk. Additionally the two central lifts only go from -1 where the buffet restaurant and lounge bar are situated to the 5th floor. There are 8 levels in total, the top floor (6th), plus a lower accommodation floor (0 & 00) where steps are required to access the rooms on these levels. Mobility scooters are not allowed into the hotel and have to be left in the secure parking area outside reception. Parking is very limited and most guests with hire cars have to park in a free public car park approx 1km / 10 minutes from the hotel.
The Sandos El Greco hotel has an à la carte restaurant, Xaloc with a four course menu which is available to book if staying for a minimum of 5 nights. The pool bar does not stock premium drinks, you can select premium spirits at the Tantit Bar and pay a small additional charge in cash (they can’t charge to your room), drinks can be taken outside to the pool and terrace areas in plastic glasses.
The pool is outdoor and has freshwater.
Pool towels are available and free of charge for all inclusive guests, a €10 deposit per towel is required and they can be exchanged daily via reception. The sun beds are stacked away each evening, guests do tend to go down prior to breakfast to reserve their sun beds with towels. The beach sun beds are chargeable to a local company and priced at €8 per sun bed, €8 per umbrella, therefore a couple would spend €24 for the day. A safe costs €3 per day.

Double room: Double bed / twin beds, walk in shower, kettle with tea / coffee making facilities, two chairs & table on the balcony/terrace. View: front entrance of the hotel or a service road at the back of the hotel.
Deluxe Royal Elite: More spacious room (30m2 to 46m2), king sized bed, coffee machine, lounge area with sofa bed, hydromassage bath & walk in shower. Max capacity 3 adults. View: swimming pool & beach, partial sea view guaranteed (also overlooking outside stage area for entertainment).
Royal Elite Sea View: Double bed / twin beds, walk in shower and a coffee machine. Max capacity 2 adults. View: guaranteed sea view.
Royal Elite Benefits: guests receive access to the Royal Elite private areas including lounge with premium drinks and the Royal Elite beach bar & terrace with premium drinks and sun beds included. Additionally 15% discount in the wellness centre and priority for restaurant reservations. Other extras include complimentary pool towels, bathrobe & slippers, daily turn-down service, goodnight chocolate, VIP amenities and courtesy mini-bar on arrival.

Our Experience
We loved the location of the Sandos El Greco – the hotel is right on the beach, in a quiet part of the island. The staff are fabulous and we really enjoyed the service. And of course, being adults only, the vibe suited us. We’d recommend hirring a car to explore more of the island.
