I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and Mike for all of your help planning our perfect honeymoon!! The Airport lounge was such a great way to start the honeymoon. Dan has decided that’s how we are now going to start every holiday from now on. Thanks to Mike for checking every possible date again, he was so patient with me. Its was amazing to fly the day after the wedding as we were on such a high.

South Africa was unreal….and they upgraded us to the best room in the hotel. Stunning. We saw so many animals including a few rare sights such as 4 males lions walking next to our truck.

Jenni Hill

Honeymoon

We’ve had a lovely time. The villa was ideal for us a couple.

I’m glad you’ve said you can do travel worldwide because that was a question I was going to ask you. As much as we love Lanzarote we feel like a change.

Thanks again julie to both you and Mike I feel like I now you know and trust you to get Graham and myself the best holiday.

Director

I love travelling, especially when I get do so with a touch of luxury. For me travel is about buying “moments’ rather than “Things.” I’m an Ironman triathlete, scuba diver and I love techy stuff and cars. Sadly for my waistline, I love cooking and enjoying great food! My favourite places so far are Cape Town and Las Vegas, but I plan to explore the far east much more.

Julie Cliffe-Jones

Director

I’m in my forties, the kids have grown up and it’s time to have some fun with my hubby interspersing work with travel. I love discovering new places, I like to stay in luxury hotels, understand the local culture, experience the gastronomy and take photographs as I travel. I’m also a triathlete and Ironman, so when I do have some spare time I’ll probably be swimming, cycling or running.

HK Museum

Hong Kong Museum Of History

We visited the history museum while we were on holiday on the island. From a selfish point of view, I wanted to see what was there relating to my time living on the island, but I was also fascinated to find out more about the country and it’s development. Hong Kong really only came onto the world map in 1841, when, after the first opium war, the island was granted in perpetuity to the United Kingdom, and the new territories…

Korea Restaurant

Korea Restaurant, Hong Kong

We were walking back to our hotel at North Point, through Wanchai and Causeway Bay and we were looking for somewhere to enjoy our evening meal. We paused to check the menu out at Korea Restaurant and Jackie leaped up from the chair he was sitting on outside, and proceeded to persuade us to go in and try a traditional Korean barbecue. Never having eaten Korean style food before, we didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to…

Veuve Clicquot Brunch at Duddells

Sunday Brunch At Duddell’s In Hong Kong

We wanted to experience Sunday brunch in Hong Kong. Whilst many of the 5* hotels offer a Western style brunch buffet, we decided to dine at Duddell’s for their fresh and unlimited Asian cuisine with free flow Veuve Clicquot. What a fabulous gastronomy delight! Duddell’s is situated in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district, their restaurant on level 3 has been awarded not one, but two Michelin stars. The Weekend Salon Brunch is served in the salon on level…

A Visit To Aberdeen Harbour In Hong Kong

We were unsure if to visit Aberdeen during our time in Hong Kong, Mike remembered going to the Jumbo floating restaurant for lunch as a child with his parents at the weekend. In the end we went on our last day, catching the number 70 bus from Central. We walked the length of the harbour along the promenade on arrival, the sampan tour guides were quite persistent in their efforts to negotiate a harbour tour. It was an interesting stroll…

A Bus Trip To Stanley In Hong Kong

We decided to head for the coast on the other side of Hong Kong on Saturday morning. We took the MTR into Central and then caught the 260 express bus to Stanley from the Exchange Square bus station. It wasn’t easy to find the bus station, the signs from both Hong Kong station and the IFC shopping centre were terrible! There’s several buses to Stanley, the 6, 6A, 6X and 66 stop had a long queue, we spotted a small…

Harbour Plaza and Harbour Grand Hotels, Hong Kong

We booked the 4* Harbour Plaza North Point for our 6 night stay in Hong Kong, the hotel was celebrating it’s 17th anniversary on our arrival. We were invited to a breakfast meeting on our first morning by Billy Wan, the Director of Business Development for this hotel. It was fascinating to learn the history and portfolio of properties including within the hotel group, understand their clientele and seasons, as well as gaining lots of local knowledge about Hong Kong.…

Afternoon Tea At The Peninsula Hong Kong

When I asked Mike what he’d like to do on his birthday in Hong Kong, there was no hesitation in his response which was to have afternoon tea at The Peninsular. This nostalgic British tradition remains very popular in Hong Kong and although there are many places offering an afternoon tea service, The Lobby at The Peninsular is high on the list of the top ten recommendations. The Afternoon Tea service is classically British, served on a silver tiered stand,…

Visiting The Peak In Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s peak is 550 Metres above sea level, so it affords incredible views of this most spectacular city, the harbour, and Kowloon, across the water. There are basically three ways to get up there – by car, on foot, or via the world famous Peak Tram, which has been running for around 120 years. We chose, quite sensibly, to go up on the tram and to come down on foot! The tram station is in Garden road, and easily…

Public Transport, Hong Kong

We’ve enjoyed being out and about in Hong Kong, with 90% of the population not owning a car here, the public transport is frequent, low cost and easy to use. The first thing we did was buy our Octopus cards, you can pick these up at any MTR station. We used the local ones, which are loaned to you, the initial cost is a deposit of 50 HK$ plus a credit of 100 HK$. There is a tourist version available…
