Looking back our most memorable holidays to date have been those that involved snow, there’s something pure and magical about spending time in these winter destinations.

We’ve been snowboarding as a family in Courchevel, which was our first time on the piste and our children say it’s probably their best holiday. When they were little we did the Santa Experience and spent a few days in Rovaniemi where the days were full of snow fun adventures including husky dog sledging, snowmobile riding, meeting Santa and visited the underground Santa Park – we’ve still got our certificates from crossing the arctic circle, and reindeer licences. More recently as a couple, we cruised from Tromso with Hurtigruten where we experienced fabulous gastronomy, had some exciting adventures in the snow, discovered some beautiful harbour towns and witnessed the Northern Lights.

Arctic Cruises

Hurtigruten are so confident that the northern lights will make an appearance during their Classic Roundtrip 12-day voyage in Norway that if they don’t, they give you a 6-7 day Classic Voyage free of charge! Whilst regular cruisers may turn their nose up at Hurtigruten for being a working ferry and not providing evening entertainment, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and saw the Northern Lights. We would be delighted to arrange your voyage with this company for the Norwegian coast or Antartica.
