As the marathon season looms upon us, runners have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the Xian Half Marathon, in China, departing on 02 November 2016.

This 6-day package starts from £1,299 per person with an option to extend your stay, and includes most of your requirements for this unique trip.

Itinerary

Day 1-2: Fly overnight from UK to Xian via Beijing. On arrival, transfer to your hotel to settle in and make use of the facilities, including a pool and fitness centre.

Day 3: Race Preparation, visit the race expo to pick up your half marathon pack and check out Xian’s city wall, for the run the next day.

Day 4: Race Day, transfer to race start at 9am. The race takes place along the wide, open and flat top of Xian’s city walls, built during the Ming Dynasty. Back at the hotel, enjoy a traditional Chinese foot massage in the afternoon before sitting down to a celebratory dinner and medal ceremony.

Day 5: Terracotta Warriors, spend the morning viewing the enigmatic ranks of life size soldiers, each unique with a rank and weapons. Back in the city, admire the beauty of the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, and wander the atmospheric alleys of the Muslim Quarter. Option to join in a feast of traditional Shui Jiao dumplings and watching a Tang Dynasty dance show during the evening.

Day 6: Transfer to the airport for flight to UK, or extend your holiday with 2 nights in Beijing.


Grand New World 4* Hotel – Xian (4 Nights)

Grand New World Hotel is centrally located within ancient urban Xian, close to its city walls. All 471 rooms have en-suite bathrooms with deep bathtubs, satellite television, a minibar and 24 hour room service. There are two onsite restaurants serving Chinese and Western delicacies, as well as an indoor pool, spa and coffee shop. Meals are included, the hotel usually serves western dishes for breakfast. lunch and dinner usually consists of local cuisine brought to the table and served on a Lazy Susan for everyone to share. There is a small local charge for drinks, other than complimentary green tea.

The price includes flights & taxes, airport transfers, domestic transportation, 4* hotel accommodation, marathon entrance fee, race day transfers, and sightseeing as described above.

Day 6: Xian to Beijing, fly to Beijing with a transfer to your hotel. Take a visit to the Temple of Heaven during the afternoon and watch a performance of Chinese acrobatics in the evening.

Day 7: The Great Wall. Travel into the heart of Beijing to exploring the sprawling majesty of the Forbidden City. The afternoon is dedicated to China’s most iconic sight of the Great Wall, where you can walk along the structure and admire the scenery. Taste Beijings famous delicacy of Peking Duck on your last evening.
