I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and Mike for all of your help planning our perfect honeymoon!! The Airport lounge was such a great way to start the honeymoon. Dan has decided that’s how we are now going to start every holiday from now on. Thanks to Mike for checking every possible date again, he was so patient with me. Its was amazing to fly the day after the wedding as we were on such a high.

South Africa was unreal….and they upgraded us to the best room in the hotel. Stunning. We saw so many animals including a few rare sights such as 4 males lions walking next to our truck.

Jenni Hill

Honeymoon

We’ve had a lovely time. The villa was ideal for us a couple.

I’m glad you’ve said you can do travel worldwide because that was a question I was going to ask you. As much as we love Lanzarote we feel like a change.

Thanks again julie to both you and Mike I feel like I now you know and trust you to get Graham and myself the best holiday.

I love travelling, especially when I get do so with a touch of luxury. For me travel is about buying “moments’ rather than “Things.” I’m an Ironman triathlete, scuba diver and I love techy stuff and cars. Sadly for my waistline, I love cooking and enjoying great food! My favourite places so far are Cape Town and Las Vegas, but I plan to explore the far east much more.

Julie Cliffe-Jones

Director

I’m in my forties, the kids have grown up and it’s time to have some fun with my hubby interspersing work with travel. I love discovering new places, I like to stay in luxury hotels, understand the local culture, experience the gastronomy and take photographs as I travel. I’m also a triathlete and Ironman, so when I do have some spare time I’ll probably be swimming, cycling or running.

Playa de Las Americas, Tenerife

We didn’t spot any obvious sign that we’d left the holiday resort of Los Cristianos and entered Playa de Las Américas at the far end of Playas de Las Vistas. We wandered through the shopping centres of C.C. Nuevo Mar and C.C. Oasis treating ourselves to an ice cream, before continuing our walk along the Paseo Marítimo in the direction of Costa Adeje. We looked back one more time over Playa de Las Vistas towards Los Cristianos before rounding the…

Los Cristianos, Tenerife

The day had come, we steeled ourselves in readiness to explore the “tacky” side of Tenerife and headed for the holiday resorts on the South coast. We decided to start at Los Cristianos and walk along the front, after a few minutes, we looked at each other in surprise, this wasn’t anything like what we had been led to believe. There was a wide tree lined promenade with benches, boardwalk and paving. The shops, bars and restaurants were very much…

La Concepcion, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

We headed down towards the harbour area of Santa Cruz, and stumbled on a cobbled pedestrian street running alongside the huge barranco that comes down from the mountains. It’s basically a whole street of restaurants, and we walked the length of it until we were drawn into La Concepción. You know how sometimes you just get a feeling about a place? Inside it was cosy and there were several other tables in use. The decor is modern and unusual –…

Callao Savaje, Tenerife

We were surprised by the size of Callao Salvaje, referred to as a village by the locals, it didn’t take us long to find out why. We were staying at Pearly Grey for our base to explore the South of Tenerife which occupies a frontline position here. This is a mainly residential area with a few hotels and a smattering of shops, bars and restaurants. There’s a black beach called Playa de Ajabo with a bar and a small promenade.…

El Medano, Tenerife

El Médano was another stop off on our journey down to the South, the plan was to grab some tapas for lunch and hopefully meet up with an online friend Linda Wainwright. Parking seemed to be a major issue, we were on the verge of giving up of ever finding a place to park the car when we spotted a gap we could squeeze the forfour into. Looking down on the beach below us, there were plenty of windsurf sails…

Candelaria, Tenerife

We had to stop and visit the Guanches at Candelaria whilst we were passing on our drive from Santa Cruz down to the South. When we arrived, the town was in full fiesta mode, the streets decorated with flags and a huge stage set up in the plaza. There’s an interesting story to Candelaria, it’s said that a wooden figure of the Virgin Mary was washed up on the shore here in 1392, which was found by the Guanches. Bizarrely…

Santa Cruz, Tenerife

We loved strolling the streets around the capital of Santa Cruz, although only another Canary Island, we could have been somewhere on the mainland of Spain, it was great to be in a big city again. We managed to stumble upon a great cafe with a €7.50 menú del día when we were waiting to check into our hotel, La Esquina del Parque is just a stroll through the park from the Grand Hotel Mencey. Our first evening was spent…
