Mfuwe Lodge in South Luangwa, has developed a unique relationship with a family of wild elephants over several years.

When this five star lodge in Zambia was built, it didn’t deter a particular family of elephants from taking the most direct route to the annual harvest of wild mango fruits found within their grounds.

The elephants didn’t go around the development, instead led by the matriarch nicknamed Wonky Tusk, they continued as before – straight through the lodge’s reception area, much to the delight of their guests.

Three generations of Wonky Tusk’s family have now visited the Mfuwe Lodge to feast on the wild mangoes.

The best time to witness this beautiful spectacle is during the month of November.
