We needed a hotel for an overnight stay at London Heathrow Airport on our journey from Lanzarote to Cape Town. The obvious choice was the Hilton London Heathrow as we were flying out of T4 and this hotel, is the only one with direct access to terminal 4.

The Hilton London Heathrow hotel is accessed via a tunnel walkway from departures in T4. It takes around 6 minutes to walk from the airport via the covered footpath to the hotel, they have buggies available to assist if required.

I liked the glass fronted style of the hotel, the 398 rooms are situated in two blocks on either side of a large atrium that runs the length of the hotel. We were allocated a standard guest room (no 461) which overlooked inwards over the reception area. The rooms are comfortably furnished, the windows have one way glass, black out curtains and are sound proofed, so we had a great night’s sleep and woke refreshed, ready for our onward journey.

As Hhonors members we were given a free late check out and WiFi access during our stay. The internet was excellent, high speed and no requirement to keep logging in, it also covered multiple devices.

We dined within the hotel during our stay. We started with a drink at Dancers Bar, we opted for one of their speciality beers, which was served with a tray of tasty cocktail snacks. For our evening meal we enjoyed the tasting menu at Zen Oriental, which was superb. Breakfast the following morning was served in the Aromi Restaurant, we weren’t disappointed – you can’t beat an American hotel serving British food, the hot buffet selection and quality was probably the best we’ve encountered in our travels so far.

We received impeccable service throughout our stay, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it as a great hotel choice for an overnight stay at Heathrow Airport.
